I created my own collages using Photshop and Illustrator, which are obviously tools created specifically for image creation and editing. Although carrying out my own collage creation and experimentation was important for me to understand and discover what I felt represented a Hauntological Collage, I do not want, or would I be able to create a system for my Collage Creator to simply replicate those tools.

To try and prevent this I feel it is important to explore more unique, niche ways of editing and morphing an image or video. One thats can potenially be adapted to my project, and through that adaption, hopefully incorpate the thoery and ideologies of Hauntology.

DataMoshing​:

Datamoshing is a way of editing the equivilant of the genetic code of an image. By editing the code, often at random, distortion and pixilation effects can be created. I used a HEX editor called HXD to access the code of images I had selected for potential collages. Below are some of the results. 

This process is very trial and error, with images often becoming completely broken.
